GearUp Trade-In Program FAQs

First things first....

The GearUp Trade-In Program is valid from 4/22/24 - 7/30/24 as a pilot program as we launch our new Bēbee V2 stroller. Because of this we are experiencing high volumes of customer inquiries, so some responses may be delayed. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Bombi reserves the right to close the program at any time


We accept used Bombi Bēbee Lightweight Strollers that function perfectly and are in great  condition. Items not in great working condition, show excessive signs of wear and tear and purchased outside of the acceptable purchase dates will not be accepted.

Here is how our program works:

  1. Inspect and clean your stroller to make sure it’s eligible for trade-in within our program.
  2. Complete the online form after purchasing your Bēbee V2 Stroller (you will need your order number for the return form)
  3. Once we receive your return form, we will print a return shipping label that will be included INSIDE your Bēbee V2 box
  4. Your Bēbee V2 will ship with a return label for your stroller trade-in
  5. Once your brand new shiny Bēbee V2 arrives, take it out, assemble it and test it out! KEEP THE BOX - this is how you will send your trade-in stroller back to us
  6. Pack up your trade-in using the Bēbee V2 box and drop it at your nearest FedEx location
  7. Once we receive your stroller we will inspect it for excessive wear and tear and structural damage to make sure it works properly.
  8. If your trade-in meets our program requirements, you will receive your refund and confirmation via email
  9. If your trade-in did not meet our program requirements, you will receive an email letting you know it was not accepted along with any next steps. 

We request 7-10 business days to get your trade-in processed upon receiving your trade in. Due to high volume with our new launch, trade-ins may take a bit longer to be processed. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please know that we are a small business and doing our best to get your trade-in processed and refunded as soon as possible. You will get an email confirmation once your trade-in has been processed!

Almost! We currently accept gently used Bēbee Lightweight Strollers. We do not accept Car Seat Adapter Straps, Footmuffs, Snack Trays, Rain Covers, Cup Holders or Mosquito Nets. If you purchased a final sale stroller, it is not eligible for trade-in at this time.

Accessories compatible with the current Bēbee (2023 model) are not compatible with the BēbeeV2 and are not eligible for trade-in at this time.

Let’s give your pre-loved gear a new home! Prior to sending in your gear, please inspect it for any damage (see below checklist), remove anything in pockets/basket, and clean your gear before trading it in. By doing this, we are able to process your trade-in quicker so other families can start using their upcycled Bombi items sooner!
Unfortunately we cannot accept gear in the following conditions: 

1. Damaged: Items with heavy or excessive visible issues are ineligible. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Fabric that shows signs of wear and tear beyond normal use such as holes, tears or excessive amounts of pulled stitching.
  • Broken zippers on either the canopy or travel tote
  • Frames must be free of dents with scratches no more than ½” in length
  • Items not properly cleaned prior to sending may be ineligible for trade in - including (but not limited to) excessive amounts of sand, mud, salt or pet hair. 
  • Strollers must be free of tape, customization and other writing.
  • Strollers that show fabric discoloration due to cleaning with harsh chemicals (such as bleach) or excessive fading from the sun may be ineligibleDiscolored fabrics  (did they use a harsh chemical to clean it and scrub the color out) 
  • Strollers missing structural elements or have been otherwise modified by the customer after purchase will not be accepted (removing snaps, fasteners, screws, etc.)

2. Unclean: We know little ones can be messy, but please clean all food, drinks, boogies and other toddler messes off prior to sending your stroller back. Items not cleaned prior to sending may not be accepted. 

3. Incomplete: Items missing essential components (i.e. bumper bar, cup holder, travel tote, basket, screws, fasteners, snaps, etc.)

If your gear is not accepted, we can either return it to you or recycle it so it stays out of the landfill.

The below percentage will be refunded on your Bēbee V2 stroller purchase if your trade-in is accepted. Strollers purchased:

  • Less than 3 months ago: 25% refunded on their V2 stroller order
  • 3-6 months ago: 15% refunded on their V2 stroller order
  • 6-12 months: 10% refunded on their V2 stroller order
  • Over 1 year: 5% refunded on their V2 stroller order

Some exclusions and exceptions may apply. If your stroller is unused and in the original packaging, please send us an email to gearup@bombigear.com

Unfortunately we don’t accept everything. Gear has to be functional, in good working condition and on the list of items we buy back (see below) 

We buy back Bēbee Lightweight Strollers

If your item is not accepted for trade-in, there is a $10 shipping and handling charge which will be deducted from the value of the credit issued for unaccepted items. 

If your gear is not accepted, we can either return it to you (if you selected this option on your form) or recycle it so it stays out of the landfill.

To help reduce our environmental footprint, we kindly ask that you only ship items included in our trade-in program, this will minimize unnecessary shipping back and forth

That’s up to you! When trading in your stroller, be sure to select the option to have it returned to you free of charge if it's not accepted. If it’s ineligible and you don't want to keep it, we'll recycle it for you so it stays out of landfills.

Bombi GearUp Trade-In Program only fulfills orders within the contiguous United States, so we are unable to support returns from US territories and international addresses at this time (excludes HI, AK, PR)

Currently, we only buy back and sell used Bombi gear in the contiguous U.S., but are looking into expanding our program in the future!

Orders are shipped by FedEx ground from our warehouse in Rhode Island. You should receive your order within 4-6 business days after receiving your order confirmaton (rural zip codes may require additional time). Orders placed after 12:00 p.m. EST will ship the following business day. Orders placed after 12:00 p.m. EST Friday through Sunday will ship the next business day (excluding holidays see below).   

Bombi observes the following Holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • MLK  Jr. Day
  • Good Friday
  • Victory Day 
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving 
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Orders placed on these days will ship the next non-holiday business day.

GearUp items come from our garages, basements and backs of cars. These are items that have been gently used by the Hive (then inspected and refurbished by our team for resale), fashions that people just didn’t love that we have excess of and items that were sitting in our warehouse waiting for a home. These items have been inspected and are functionally perfect (although some may have minor cosmetic flaws) and ready for a new home! By putting these items back into use, they are given a second life, avoid landfills and give customers more affordable gear options!

We need a little time to launch our program, inspect and refurbish stroller trade-ins and update our site. Strollers will be available for sale through our GearUp program at a discounted price starting 8/1/24.
